Real Talk Tuesdays: The DMV

The DMV in Champaign closed some time ago (amid complaints from the employees about the facility). They are in the process of building a new one but in the meantime those of us in the greater C-U area have to travel for our DMV needs. This morning I jetted to Rantoul only to discover that their camera was broken - so I headed east to scenic Danville where I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. A lot of driving just to get a new shitty photo. Ugh.

Real Talk Tuesdays: Mad Men

It's over. After 8 years on the air, Mad Men ended this week. It was sometimes a little slow but offered up a great deal of wit, charm and sexy time. Probably among the best moments were the historically accurate timeline (MLK, Kennedy, Vietnam) and the spotlight on women in the workplace. Well done.

Madhouse Mondays: Game of Thrones

My wife started reading the Game of Thrones books a few years back. Once she was invested she started to watch the HBO series as well. I happened by one day and got drawn in - but wasn't allowed to view past season two since she hadn't read that far in the series. Thus started a year long ban on GoT viewing in our household. Finally, last month, she came to terms with the fact that she'll likely never finish those long-ass dry books and we dove headlong back into Westros, screaming through seasons three and four just in time to view the season five opener along with everyone else. This was my favorite shot.

Real Talk Tuesdays: NCAA Championship

I love college basketball. It's one of my biggest passions. About this time each year I have what I refer to as the "College Basketball Hangover". The season is done. A champion has been crowned. Only this year's game has me thinking that the fix is in.

In the closing minutes of a very tight game, a plethora of calls (or no-calls) went Duke's way. Basically insuring the win. And almost every single incident involved Duke's Justise Winslow. It's like the refs were getting kick-backs to boost his draft stock.

Here are some of the more outrageous plays in question. Disgusting. Good game, Wisconsin.

Don't like this call. How do you defense this otherwise? Would have been Winslows 4th

Madhouse Mondays: 90s Music Tournament

We're in the clutches of March Madness (my favorite sporting event of the year) but over at Uproxx they want to crown the "Most 90's Band" of all time. Check out the bracket and go here to cast your votes!
