Real Talk Tuesdays: Mad Men

It's over. After 8 years on the air, Mad Men ended this week. It was sometimes a little slow but offered up a great deal of wit, charm and sexy time. Probably among the best moments were the historically accurate timeline (MLK, Kennedy, Vietnam) and the spotlight on women in the workplace. Well done.

Real Talk Tuesdays: Mad Men

Real talk? I'm just trying to figure out how I'm gonna make it a full year without new episodes of Mad Men. Dag.

Madhouse Mondays: Marty Robbins

*BREAKING BAD SPOILERS*

Last night the series finale of Breaking Bad aired. The episode was entitled, "Felina". It wasn't until the end that I put it together. Walt steals a car in New Hampshire to drive back to New Mexico in order to say goodbye to his loved ones, facing certain death. In the glovebox of the car he finds a Marty Robbins cassette and we see Walt singing along to "El Paso" which is a song about a man who is forced to leave his hometown under fire only to return (and face certain death) in order to see his lovely maiden, Felina, one last time. Easily one of my top 5 favorite songs of all time - here's Marty singing it on Grand Ole Opry Classic

Real Talk Tuesdays: Breaking Bad

Only four episodes left of what has become one of my favorite television shows of all time, Breaking Bad. If you're just getting hip to the show, please avoid the video below (SPOILERS). If you need a speedy refresher, it's just what the doctor ordered. I'm gonna miss this damn thang.

Real Talk Tuesdays: Mad Men

Two things.....A) we're pulling the plug on cable this week. I've done this several times throughout my life but this is our first as a family. Cable is overpriced and tends to be a waste of time. We'll see what happens when football season comes back around but for now I'm all about this. This also means that I've watched my last episode of Mad Men during it's original broadcast time - which leads me to B) what the hell was "The Crash" all about? When it started to distort I felt a Twin Peaks vibe (which I'm all for) but in the end it felt more like Lost (not a good thing). Let's get back to shagging secretaries and pitching great ideas. Although, I did dig the Ken Cosgrove dance.
