Madhouse Mondays: Action Bronson

Bam Bam is at it again. Dig this video for "Actin Crazy". So dope.

Real Talk Tuesdays: Action Bronson

As if we didn't already have enough reason to love Action Bronson - here's a video of him stopping by the porta potty mid-performance during the Ottawa Blues Fest. I'm going to see if on Friday. Here's hoping he takes a nap on my lawn blanket.

Way Gone Wednesdays: Danny Brown

I've talked a lotta shit about the new school - showing only respect to the likes of Kendrick and Action Bronson. I had written Danny Brown off as an anomaly who's unique look had more to do with success than his skills on the mic. Yesterday his new album, Old, went up online and I gave it an honest listen. It's not perfect, but it seems like Brown is finally in a position to afford better production and land more worthwhile collabs. Peep this track ("The Return") featuring Freddie Gibbs. This some hood-ass shit right here. Way gone.

Way Gone Wednesdays: Drug Lords

Just stumbled upon this video for "Drug Lords" by Mayhem Lauren ft. Action Bronson & AG Da Coroner (directed by William Child & Declan Creffield). What can I say? Anytime you have puppets doing some grown man shit I'm down. Plus the track is so Wu-Tanged out I can't help put put my hood up. Dag.

Way Gone Wednesdays: Action Bronson

I give very little love to the new school. Can't stand most of these kids - mostly because they don't meet my three-tier requirements to be considered quality goods. A) have a nice voice  (Nas, Jay, Doom, Redman) B) have a nice flow (Rugged Man, Pharaohe Monch, Aesop Rock) and C) have something to say (Brother Ali, Mos Def) or at least be so cool that I don't care (Missy).

Although his flow is all Ghostface, Action Bronson is one of the only new schoolers to get a pass from me. He not only meets all three aforementioned requirements but also tends to ride over the dopest sample-heavy beats. Dig this video for "Steve Wynn". Way gone.
