Real Talk Tuesdays: DOOM/Clams Casino
I know that DOOM makes a lot of appearances on this blog - but this is more about producer Clams Casino. He has a knack for beautfiul, emotional arrangements and although he usually runs with a more mainstream crowd (A$AP Rocky, Mac Miller) here we find him teaming up with metal face and the results are delicious. Dig.
Way Gone Wednesdays: Action Bronson
I give very little love to the new school. Can't stand most of these kids - mostly because they don't meet my three-tier requirements to be considered quality goods. A) have a nice voice (Nas, Jay, Doom, Redman) B) have a nice flow (Rugged Man, Pharaohe Monch, Aesop Rock) and C) have something to say (Brother Ali, Mos Def) or at least be so cool that I don't care (Missy).
Although his flow is all Ghostface, Action Bronson is one of the only new schoolers to get a pass from me. He not only meets all three aforementioned requirements but also tends to ride over the dopest sample-heavy beats. Dig this video for "Steve Wynn". Way gone.
Way Gone Wednesdays: DOOM
It's rare to see DOOM live. Even more rare to see him do an interview but he recently sat down with Chairman Jefferson Mao at the Red Bull Academy in Madrid for a long-winded chat. Dig it.
Way Gone Wednesdays: DOOM/Starks
I have some leaked tracks from a collaboration between Ghostface Killah (a.k.a. Tony Starks) and MF DOOM (a.k.a. DOOM) from a few years back. The album never came out, but it looks like it's about to. Here's a remix of the track "Victory Lap". Dig it, it's Way Gone!
