No one person (or band) in modern music embodies the experimental spirit of The Beatles like Kevin Barnes.  A bold statement, but Barnes (through his conglomerate Of Montreal) is able to test boundries while remaining so infectiously pop.  It's beautiful.  A new track called "Wintered Debts" leaked this week.  Check out this 7 1/2 minute opus and tell me I'm wrong.

I hate to toot my own horn but I listened to this mix again yesterday and it still gets me.  These were my favorite cuts from all of the hip-hop compilations I had on cassette as a youngster.  Still know all the words.  C'mon - let's get down.

The Boogie Boys only landed one major hit in raps early days - a little ditty that I found via Raps Greatest Hits called, "A Fly Girl" (1985).  This is femme-worship at it's finest.
