Real Talk Tuesdays: MCA Day NYC

On Saturday, May 3rd, the Littlefield Performance and Art Space in New York held a special day of appreciation for Adam "MCA" Yauch who passed away two years ago. Folks who made the trek were treated to a special presentation by b-boys dressed as Buddist monks. His music, the culture that he loved and the religion he subscribed to - this is a beautiful tribute. Dig.

Madhouse Mondays: Breakdance Fails

It's part of the game.

Throwback Thursdays: Grandmaster Flash

In 1984 I bought a K-tel record called Breakdance.  I played the mess out of it.  It kicked off with this incredible Grandmaster Flash mashup which features breaks from Incredible Bongo Band (Apache) , Chic (Good Times), Blondie (Rapture), Queen (Another One Bites The Dust), Sugarhill Gang (8th Wonder), Furious Five (Birthday Party) and Spoonie Gee (Monster Jam).  Epic.  While in Boston last summer, I found this on vinyl and scooped it up right away.  Dig.
