Real Talk Tuesdays: Mad Men

It's over. After 8 years on the air, Mad Men ended this week. It was sometimes a little slow but offered up a great deal of wit, charm and sexy time. Probably among the best moments were the historically accurate timeline (MLK, Kennedy, Vietnam) and the spotlight on women in the workplace. Well done.

Madhouse Mondays: Jon Quest ft. Hubbs

My dude Hubbs jumped on this Jon Quest track and straight murked it. Go on, Hubbs. Get that.

Feel Good Fridays: B.B. King

Last night we lost blues legend B.B. King. He's been recording music since 1949. Here he is in 1950 where he had to record in the 'colored' YMCA in Memphis. R.I.P., Riley.

Throwback Thursdays: Juice Newton

I recently copped the 1981 Juice Newton album Angel of the Morning - which includes "Queen of Hearts". I LOVED this song in my youth, still do. The production is on point. Crisp claps, slap-back delays. Go ahead, sing along.

Way Gone Wednesdays: Alexandre Francisco Diaphra

African beatmaker Alexandre Francisco Diaphra used his surroundings to inspire his latest project, Diaphra's Blackbook of the Beats. Dig this artist at work.
