At first glance, this just seems like a crazy Japanese commercial. But there's a little more to it. Banana imports are quickly on the rise in Japan due to interest in the Morning Banana Diet. The idea is to eat a banana (or as many as you want) for breakfast along with a cup of room-temperature water. Then, a normal lunch and dinner (nothing past 8:00 pm and no desserts). I bought a handful of bananas this weekend. I'll let you know how it pans out!
Remember this cut? Get your weekend started y'all. Bran Van 3000 is a musical collective from Canada that has put together 4 studio albums over the past 13 years. This was the single off their 1997 debut, Glee. Sort of the Gorillaz before Gorillaz existed. Dig it.
If the party ain't groovin, this cut will fix it. In 1972 Curtis Mayfield scored the blaxploitation film, Superfly - giving us jams like "Freddie's Dead", "Pusherman" and the title cut, "Superfly". The film starred Ron O'Neal (who went on to direct the sequel, Superly T.N.T.) as badass drug dealer, Priest, who wants to do one more big score and get out of the game. Here's the clip that features Mayfield's "Pusherman". Dig it.
Mega-movie mash up for your holiday hangover. These cats are among my favorite directors therefore these are some of my favorite films. Props to Leandro Copperfield for the effort. Enjoy.
