The Occupation will not be televised. It will be blogged, tweeted and YouTubed. This movement has been picking up steam over the past couple of weeks and it seems like the right thing at the right time. A peaceful protest about economic injustice staged throughout the country while being documented by our own cameras and cell phones. Power to the people.
I'm not even sure who Flula is - or what the fuck he's doing here - or why he hates badgers. Enjoy.
One week ago we lost Sylvia Robinson, a hip-hop pioneer. Sylvia was the founder and CEO of Sugar Hill Records which brought us, of course, The Sugar Hill Gang and raps first single, "Rapper's Delight". Here she is in 1974 performing "Sweet Stuff" on Soul Train. If the groove sounds familiar, it's because J Dilla sampled the mess out of it for his cut, "Crushin' (Yeeeaaah)". Dig.
Some of you have already seen this. I feel that it's worthy of an encore. See nerds, there's no limit to the useless things you can make with your knowledge of both computers and the Star Wars saga. Nanu-nanu.
Where do I start? Do people hire refs for pick up soccer games? If so, they picked a pretty bad one. I mean, he doesn't even call the hand ball violation at the 2:45 mark. Hell, he even let's the girls stash the ball in his SHIRT! Speaking of the girls, do they even have a goalie? Are The Commodores so bad that they just leave their net unattended? I think Lionel Richie would make a shitty goalie. He's twiggy and always dancing around instead trying to make a play. Real talk? What this video lacks in sports accuracy it more than makes up for with it's glorious 1980's douchebaggery.
