Feel Good Fridays: Chris Turner
I was reminded of this set yesterday, thought I'd share it with you. Fantastic way to kick off the weekend. Ladies and gentlemen.....Chris Turner.
Throwback Thursdays: Bill Cosby
Bill Cosby was a staple in my household growing up. I remember watching Top Secret and Fat Albert early on. But most of all I remember his stand up concert film, Himself. Legendary performance. I watched it again recently and I still know all the bits. Here it is in it's entirety. Take a ride with Bill today.
Madhouse Mondays: Louis C.K.
This weekend, Louis C.K. hosted Saturday Night Live and set the bar untangibly high for all who follow. I wondered what he would do for his monologue. Sing a funny song? Interact with the cast via walk-ons? Take the camera crew around the studio and perhaps have an awkward exchange with Lorne? Nope. He simply did six and half minutes of pure stand up gold. He seemed super nervous for about the first 18 seconds, then he locked it in and does what he does best. Dig.
Real Talk Tuesdays: Brian Regan
I have an incredible amount of respect for comedians. They have a tough job. Telling a joke is all about delivery and timing. Try stringing together an hour worth of jokes. Now try making a living on that. I recently heard an interview with comedian Brian Regan and the host pointed out that Regan is considered a "clean" comic. He's not churchy or a prude, he just choses to work clean - which in my opinion makes the job all the more difficult. Imagine filling an hour without stooping to low-brow sexual humor or swearing. Yet he does it with razor sharp timing and some outlandish physical posturing. Real talk? That's pretty impressive.
