Way Gone Wednesdays: Louis C.K.
Finally got around to watching the latest SNL episode, hosted by Louis C.K. I love it when stand up comics use their opening monologue time to just do bits. Louis did more than that - he slayed it. Dig.
Madhouse Mondays: Louis C.K.
This weekend, Louis C.K. hosted Saturday Night Live and set the bar untangibly high for all who follow. I wondered what he would do for his monologue. Sing a funny song? Interact with the cast via walk-ons? Take the camera crew around the studio and perhaps have an awkward exchange with Lorne? Nope. He simply did six and half minutes of pure stand up gold. He seemed super nervous for about the first 18 seconds, then he locked it in and does what he does best. Dig.
Way Gone Wednesdays: Pootie Tang
As my wife and I celebrate our first year of marriage, I'm reminded of our first date - during which we watched Pootie Tang. A completely underrated movie written and directed by Louis C.K. Here's one of my favorite clips where Pootie releases a song of compelte silence - and folks love it. Sa Da Tey!
Way Gone Wednesdays: Aziz Ansari
Earlier this year, Louis C.K. changed the stand-up game forever when he offered his latest live concert for only $5 on his website. Pastey funnyman Jim Gaffigan is following that trend as well as Aziz Ansari. It's a great model and I hope it continues. If comics can front the production costs and they trust their fanbase to be down, then it's a win-win. Dig.
Madhouse Mondays: Louis C.K.
Louis C.K. is one of my favorite comedians, his FX show, Louie, will began airing new episodes next month. I think it's the best show on televsion (rivaled only by Parks & Recreation). Here he is....telling it like it is.
