Madhouse Mondays: Chuck D

This shit just made my day.

Way Gone Wednesdays: Motley Crue

I guess Motley Crue is calling it quits. Gotta be honest - I didn't even realize that they were still a thing. During road trips for my high school basketball team I usually heard one of three albums; "Appetite for Destruction" by Guns N' Roses, "Back in Black" by AC/DC or "Dr. Feelgood" by Motley Crue. I recognize these as classics but it usually prompted me to bring my headphones and study Public Enemy and The D.O.C. But fuck it, let's send these leather clad, mall haired old bitties off in style. Boom.

Madhouse Mondays: Jeopardy Raps

Jeopardy unveiled a category called "It's a Rap" on a recent episode. Just listening to Alex Trebek read these lyrics makes me giggle.

Throwback Thursdays: Public Enemy

Been thinking about PE a lot lately. Going to school in the late 80's/early 90's in middle America, we were never taught the whole truth. Our history has been conveniently rewritten in order to prop up a fascade. I had never heard about Farrakhan or Elijah Muhammad or Marcus Garvey. Who were these men and what did they do? PE were my personal urban culture professors prompting me to dig further, learn more. I remember seeing them do this song on SNL when Michael Jordan hosted. Big time.

Throwback Thursdays: Public Enemy

For all those laptop producers out there - this is what a face melting beat sounds like (compliments to The Bomb Squad). PE in full effect.
