I love the Daptone label. I love Sharon Jones. And after her battle with cancer this year, Jones has emereged victorious and even has a new album to share with us, Give the People What They Want (due out in January). Here's the lead single, "Retreat". So good.

Feel Good Fridays:  Re:Generation

The Re:Generation Music Project is an effort to pair up unlikely collaborators and see what happens.  Not necessarily a new idea (anyone remember the Judgement Night Soundtrack?) but a good one.  Peep the trailer below and then listen to Mark Ronson with Erykah Badu, Mos Def, Trombone Shorty, members of the Dap Kings and drummer Zigaboo Modeliste.  Fresh.
