Feel Good Fridays: Atmosphere
Going to see Atmosphere this weekend - the the billiionth time. The nice weather recently has me feelin' like this.
Feel Good Fridays: Atmosphere
The weather has been amazing this week. Feels good. I'ma let Slug tell you all about it.
Real Talk Tuesdays: Atmosphere
I love to praise this Minneapolis band but today it's time to pick on them. Sean Daley has been influential to me not only as a lyricist but as an independent midwestern musician. They have certainly grown and mellowed but in the early days, Sean was accused of being a tad mysoginistic. However, on the 2002 cut "Like Today" (from Lucy Ford) Slug embarassingly misprounounces Ani DiFranco while trying to express his love for "all women" (@ the 1:32 mark). Nothing looks worse than trying to branch out from your own genre only to show that you don't know what you're talking about. Oops.
"from Anne Landers, to Ani DiFranco to Orphan Annie
I love all women, but most of them just can't stand me"
Real Talk Tuesdays: K. Flay
My buddy Budo has been touring with Rhymesayers artist Grieves for a few years now. They've been all over the country (and Europe) in support of Atmosphere. Now they're holding down headlining tours of their own. Most recently they brought along an upstart by the name of K. Flay. She's worthy of your time and more sincere then others in the nerdy-white-girl-rap-game (I'm looking at you, Kreayshawn). Dig.
Madhouse Mondays: Sean1
Before he was known around the world as Slug from the influencial Minnesota troupe, Atmosphere - he was Sean1. Big ups to high school talent shows around the world. We all have to start somewhere.
Watch Sean command the crowd at this years Lollapalooza in Chicago.
