You never met a button that you ain’t push, or a sucka that you ain’t mush.

Every time I hear the kids these days ask for Lil Wayne, Drake or Gucci Mane....I think about how much talent slithers through the underground, unnoticed by the Varsity kids.

Here's some Aesop Rock.  He's that dude.

But this ain't 1823

Merry Christmas to each and every one of you.  Here's Kurtis Blow with the gift that keeps on giving.

Let your children name themselves.

While driving back from Rock Island on Saturday, the iPod blessed us with the Sage Francis "Sea Lion" remix featuring Saul Williams.  I can't say enough about Saul as a poet and a prophet.  Check out the video below and then go out and rent Slam.

Beware of imposters, we're the Mic Monsters!

I made this commercial for my production partner/BFF Josh Miethe over at Gearbrat.  These are custom made microphone covers - keeps the dust and the smoke and the cat hair out of your precious mics.  These make the perfect gift for the musician in your life.  Hop on over and get your orders in for the Holla-Holidays!

A Life Less Superficial, or Why I'm Quitting Social Networking

Friendster gave way to Myspace.....Myspace was mowed over by Facebook. There will always be someone trying to improve on this concept but for artists, I think that you get lost in the shuffle no matter the host. I wanted to have a site dedicated to my work as a musician. A place where friends, fans, and family could come to check in on me without all of the silly distractions. I wanted to be able to promote my shows in a proper place without getting lost in a sea of weekly "event invitations".  And thanks to the work of the lovely and talented Lindsey J. Markel (soon to be Lindsey J. Gates-Markel), I have just that. Enjoy.
