Throwback Thursdays: The Power

Back in the day I had two versions of "The Power". The popular version from Snap! (1991) and the original from Chill Rob G (1990). Beatmakers Michael Münzing (Benito Benites) and Luca Anzilotti (John Virgo Garrett III) called themselves Power Jam and failed to clear the samples in the early version. Eventually Arista Records got clearance but then decided to remix the song, bumping Chill Rob G for rapper Turbo B. Radio stations latched onto the updated version and it became a bonafide hit. Can't help but think Chill Rob G got the shaft on this one. Dig 'em both right here.
