Way Gone Wednesdays: Menthol

Menthol split their time between Champaign-Urbana and Chicago during their heyday in the late 90's and early aughts. They were among the 'local-boys-make-good-but-then-find-out-why-major-labels-suck' set. Still one of my favorites and I think "Strange Living" is one of the best songs to come out of this area. Let this bump.

Feel Good Fridays: Vince Staples

There's been a lot of chatter lately about Vince Staples. I haven't really been impressed but this morning I listened to Summertime. Killer vibe. Killer tune. Dig.

Feel Good Fridays: Git Beats & Bob Banner

The big homie Git has a new banger out with Bob Banner. The vibe is on par with Gang Starr's "Militia" or M.O.P.'s "Ante Up". Pure energy. Bump this in your morning speakers.

Throwback Thursdays: Toad the Wet Sprocket

Super excited to be playing with Toad the Wet Sprocket this weekend. When I was first learning guitar I listened to this album a lot. Particularly this song - which I hope to hear on Saturday.

Real Talk Tuesdays: Aesop Rock

Caught Aesop Rock up at Summerfest in Milwaukee this weekend. Been a fan for a long time but somehow missed this cut from last year. Dig it.
