Way Gone Wednesdays: Chance the Rapper

Awhile back I wrote about Chicago's own Chance the Rapper. Since then I've listened to several cuts as they leaked and even caught a live set at the Canopy Club. Yesterday, Chance dropped his Acid Rap Mixtape. It's every bit as good as we were hoping. Dig.

Madhouse Mondays: Megan Johns

When I first met Megan Johns she was recording her debut album, Dirty Shoes, which featured Mountain Goats bassist, Peter Hughes. Megan was 17 and finshing her last semester of high school. Fast forward to 2009 and I played a show with her at the Canopy Club - the song that stuck with me that night was "The Beat Was Burnt". Soon after a video followed and I asked Megan for the raw tracks so I could fiddle with a remix idea. Many sleeps later, it is here - it is finished. Dig the remix, then peep the video for the original (directed by Matt Harsh).

Check out my other remixes here.
