Madhouse Mondays: Meat Loaf
Sometime around 1981 my older brother introduced me to Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell. I was immediately infatuated with it. The rock opera feel of the high energy rock was infectious. Little did I know at the time that those songs were written by Jim Steinman (who would later pen the hits "Total Eclipse of the Heart" for Bonnie Tyler and "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" for Air Supply). Over the weekend I revisted Bat Out of Hell and decided that "You Took the Words Right Outta My Mouth" is, hands down, my favorite cut on that album.
